Although this is probably not an event you'd care to participate in, it is an annual event in the mountains of Lake Tahoe.
The late fall belly packing of our local Black Bears. The beautiful shiny black coated fellow that left these prints in our driveway was seen playing in the sprinkler on our neighbors' lawn in late September. This photo was taken in early November of 99.
He stood about 4 feet tall at the shoulder on all fours, and gave us a disgusted look when we put the high beams of our car on him, when we thought me saw a big dog in the street.
